Vince Staples shares new song, “Sheet Music”

It arrived alongside a new episode of ‘The Vince Staples Show.’

Vince Staples has dropped a new song titled “Sheet Music,” which also features on the second episode of his web series, The Vince Staples Show.

The new episode follows Vince on the run from his vengeful girlfriend who discovered he’s been sleeping with another woman. To spare himself from her wrath, the rapper hides out at the home of rapper-actor Ray J. At first, Ray grills Vince for being unfaithful to his girlfriend, but quickly adds that the rapper should only get better “at keeping secrets.” The clip, directed by Calmatic, also features a cameo from Compton emcee Buddy.

“Sheet Music” appears during the episode’s credits. It’s produced by LeKen Taylor, who also worked on “So What?,” the first song that accompanied the August premiere of the rapper’s web series. On the new track, Vince raps about a romance with no strings attached over a bouncy melody. “Your body is a temple baby bless me / Slurp me, gurp me, top me / I’m in love, Wallahi / They be coming for me but / They won’t come to Poppy but / I don’t want no problems cuh / I just want some love,” he spits on the chorus.
