Vic Mensa’s ‘Hooligans’ EP has arrived

The rapper has also dropped a music video for “In Some Trouble.”

Vic Mensa’s follow-up to his 2017 debut studio album, The Autobiography, is here.

Hooligans, out last Friday, collects eight tracks, including the previously released single, “Dark Things.” The EP, which clocks in just under 30 minutes, features cameos from G-Eazy, G Herbo and Ty Dolla $ign. Jesse Rutherford from The Neighborhood and GOOD Music’s Mr Hudson also make appearances.

For most parts on the record, Mensa stays true to his rap roots, packing plenty of bass and trap influences into his tracks. But for “The 1 That Got Away/No Shoes,” his song with Charlie Wilson, the Chicago rapper gets in touch with his soulful side, showcasing his pipes over an R&B melody co-produced by Kenyon Christ and Mensa himself.

Accompanying the release of Hooligans is a colorful visual for the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted track “In Some Trouble.” The clip finds the Chicago rapper falling head over heels for a beautiful girl, who turns out to be a skilled con artist. Watch it below:
