Vic Mensa reworks Fabolous’ “Breathe” for new freestyle

He heads back to his hometown of Chicago in the accompanying video.

Vic Mensa has returned with a new freestyle called “Breathe.”

The song is a rework of Fabolous’ 2004 hit of the same name. On the track, the Chicago rapper spits rapid-fire bars over Just Blaze’s iconic production, while making references to celebrities like Ice Cube, Dave Chappelle and more.

“A live wire, two charges for firearms / I’m my whole top 5, n***a pardon my Dylon / Since Dave said he don’t own the rights to Chappelle’s Show / Fuck, this bitch still wanna Netflix and chill though,” he spits. Meanwhile, the accompanying video, directed by Troy From Chicago, features Mensa performing the track around his hometown.
