Trippie Redd, Playboi Carti team up on “Miss the Rage”

A song about craving the adrenaline rush that comes from a live show.

Trippie Redd and Playboi Carti have joined forces on a new single called “Miss the Rage.”

The two rappers bring the sounds and energy from their recent respective albums—Neon Shark vs Pegasus and Whole Lotta Red—while swapping lines over Loesoe’s fuzzy production. “I can’t see a damn thing if it ain’t guap / They like Stevie, they can’t see me / They wanna be me, I’m in that ’Ghini,” Trippie rhymes in the chorus.

Speaking with XXL, Trippie explained that the title “Miss the Rage” refers to his frustration with not being able to perform live shows due to COVID-19.

“I been locked away. I’m one of them people that’s at the festivals, I come out going crazy out the rips. I’m ready to get back to my stage presence. I’m tired of this shit,” he said. “I’m tired of sitting in the house, ’cause that’s all I been doing.”

Trippie will soon get his wish: the Canton, Ohio native will return to the stage this summer at the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami.
