Trey Songz returns with hefty new album, ‘Back Home’

Featuring Summer Walker, Swae Lee, Ty Dolla $ign and more.

Trey Songz has returned with his new album, Back Home.

The hefty 22-track record features appearances from Swae Lee, DaVido, Ty Dolla $ign and Summer Walker. It also includes the song “2020 Riots: How Many Times,” which he released earlier this year. Back Home is Songz’s first studio album since 2017’s Tremaine the Album.

“I wanna make the kind of R&B that inspired me to sing. The songs that make you love, the ones that make [you] cry and the ones that make you smile, laugh and dance,” Songz told radio station WAMO 100.1. “Music is the soundtrack that plays while we live our lives, and I wanna be there for my fans while they are living through this truly special time that we’ll never forget. I say I’m Back Home because the music feels that way. I hope you feel the same.”

The release of Back Home follows Songz’s confirmation that he recently tested positive for the coronavirus. The singer-rapper broke the news in a video posted to his Instagram account last week, where he said that he would be treating the results seriously.
