Travis Scott is set to join Maroon 5 at the upcoming Super Bowl, Variety reports. But there’s a catch: Jay-Z is trying to talk the Astroworld rapper out of it.
Hova has sparred with the NFL over the way it has treated Colin Kaepernick, going as far to say he turned down the chance to perform himself. “I said no to the Super Bowl / You need me, I don’t need you,” he raps on “Apeshit.” Even Meek Mill, upon hearing the news of Scott’s involvement, tweeted: “He don’t need that he on fire already! Stay strong in this shit.”
Seems as though Adam Levine and company are having a tough time finding guests to share the stage with them. Mary J Blige and Rihanna have reportedly also declined the opportunity, but other artists rumored to hop on the February 3 extravaganza include Cardi B, Outkast, Nicki Minaj and Lauryn Hill. Looks like Jay-Z’s got a few more calls to make.
