Travis Scott shares brooding new song, “The Plan”

From Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ soundtrack.

Travis Scott has released a brand-new song, “The Plan,” which is part of the soundtrack for Christopher Nolan’s new spy thriller Tenet, out in cinemas later this week.

Produced by Ludwig Göransson and WondaGurl, the brooding and heavily Auto-Tuned track was the “final piece of a yearlong puzzle,” Nolan told GQ. “His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism [composer] Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

“The Plan” was initially previewed during the NBA match between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, broadcasted on TNT. The song also marks Scott’s first time writing a film soundtrack. “I’ve always wanted to do a song specifically for a movie,” the rapper tweeted last week before the song dropped. “This shittttttt right here can’t wait to blasssssttttt at high volume. Feel like when I use to make music out of mom’s crib.”

Scott has been busying himself with multiple projects throughout 2020. Aside from working on a joint album with fellow Cactus Jack artist Chase B, the rapper is also planning to release a collaborative record with Kid Cudi. The duo dropped their first self-titled single earlier in April under the shared moniker The Scotts.
