Travis Scott, Kid Cudi link up on “The Scotts”

The collab premiered during a ‘Fortnite’ concert.

Travis Scott has teamed up with Kid Cudi for a brand-new banger titled “The Scotts.”

The song premiered earlier today during Scott’s Astronomical concert, a virtual performance held within the Fortnite video game world. Co-produced by La Flame alongside Dot da Genius and Take a Daytrip, “The Scotts” is a nod to the rapper’s names. Scott, whose government name is Jacques Berman Webster II, previously explained that his moniker was inspired by Cudder’s real name, Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi.

The rappers let loose over a hazy, hypnotic beat and sling braggadocious rhymes. “We put the mic outside (Yeah) / Air that shit out, uh (Mm) / You lettin’ the Scotts outside (Yeah) / We runnin’ the scouts (Mm),” La Flame declares at the top of the track.

“The Scotts” marks the pair’s first collaboration in nearly four years. Scott and Cudder previously connected on the latter’s 2016 song “Baptized in Fire.” In 2018, Cudi made a brief cameo on Scott’s Astroworld single, “Stop Trying to be God,” alongside James Blake and Stevie Wonder.

Both rappers have been busy in the studio lately. Scott recently released Jackboys, a compilation featuring artists from his Cactus Jack label roster, while Cudi dropped a new song from his forthcoming album, Entergalactic.
