Tory Lanez performs “Look At Me!” in memory of XXXTentacion

The Canadian rapper covers X’s first major hit.

The hip hop world continues to grieve over the shocking death of XXXTentacion. Yesterday, Tory Lanez performed “Look At Me!” as a tribute to the late artist.

Describing the Bad Vibes Forever rapper as a “fallen soldier,” Lanez dedicated time to remember X, during his performance in Denver. He held a ten-second moment of silence in honor of the rapper, before presenting a cover of “Look At Me!” to the spirited crowd. The track is X’s breakout hit that put him in the limelight in 2017.

Lanez, who was on his Memories Don’t Die tour, admitted that he didn’t know the late rapper too well, but “felt like I knew you through the music,” he said in an Instagram video.

“Lost another soldier to violence. Really felt like this n***a was my dawg through his music,” he captioned the post.

XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was gunned down at a motorcycle dealership near Miami, said the Broward Sheriff’s office. The killers’ identities and motivation behind the shooting have yet to be disclosed.
