Tory Lanez was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday morning after police reportedly discovered a concealed weapon in his car during a search.
According to Variety, the Canadian native had been at a house party with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion when a violent altercation occurred. Witnesses said they had heard arguments outside the home in a nearby SUV before shots were fired and the vehicle left the scene.
Eventually, the cops managed to track down the car, which was occupied by the rap stars and an unnamed woman. According to police reports, Megan suffered injuries to her foot from broken glass on the SUV’s floor. They also uncovered a gun in the vehicle during their investigation.
Lanez was arrested on felony charges but released on bail a few hours later. He is expected to appear in court on October 13. Meanwhile, Megan was reportedly sent to the hospital to seek treatment. No other information about the incident was available at the time of writing. Reps for the stars have also yet to release an official statement.
In May, Lanez dropped his first release as an independent artist, “Temperature Rising.” The single marked the rapper’s departure from Interscope Records and a follow-up to his April album, New Toronto 3. Megan, on the other hand, returned with a new song, “Girls in the Hood,” which she recently performed at the BET Awards 2020.
