Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, DMX join forces in “Just in Case” video

For the new television show, ‘Godfather of Harlem.’

Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross and DMX have shared a video for “Just in Case,” from the soundtrack of the upcoming television drama Godfather of Harlem. The show premiered yesterday on Epix.

The Daps-directed clip features the actor Forest Whitaker—who plays the show’s protagonist Bumpy Johnson—and brings the three hip hop artists back to a time in Harlem rife with mob wars and societal upheaval. The visual then segues to Ross and DMX exchanging bars at a table, intercut with scenes of gunfire and anti-racist protests pulled from the television show.

Swizz then leads a church choir in the chorus of the song: “Open up my window again / I can hear death calling my name / I swear to God things ain’t gon change / I keep a revolver wit’ your name.”

“Just in Case” follows Swizz and Ross’ previous collaboration “Big Tyme,” off the latter’s recent album Port of Miami 2. Swizz also featured on the recent Snoop Dogg collab “Countdown.”
