A bite-sized effort that bursts with personality.

Tobi Lou has released a new EP Lingo Starr, shortly after his 2018 single “Buff Baby” became RIAA Gold-certified.

“Buff baby just went gold should we do new music TONIGHT OR WHAT WOWW WTF STILL CRYING brb,” the Chicago-based artist teased on Twitter last week.

The three songs on Lingo Starr riff off famous movie titles: “Return of the Dragon,” “Strikes Back” and “Drunken Master.” The Nigerian-born rapper experiments with fuzzy beats courtesy of Poolsuite, and also recruits producers Maximillian, William Nunez, Matteo Woods and Ktwicebeats.

The EP follows a series of loosies from the rapper, including “Neither Here Nor There,” “Skin Care Tutorial 2020,” “hot tub DREAM Machine” and “hot tub TIME Machine.” Lou released his debut album Live on Ice last year, which included appearances from Ryan Destiny, LEJKEYS, Vernon, Rockie Fresh and more.
