Spillage Village take fans to church with ‘Tiny Desk’ set

Watch the group perform cuts from their new album, ‘Spilligion.’

Spillage Village took fans to church—literally—for their virtual performance for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

The sacred setting was a fitting destination for the Atlanta group, who played cuts from their spiritual new album, Spilligion. The collective opened with an invigorating performance of “End of Daze,” followed by renditions of “Baptize,” “Hapi” and “Jupiter.”

With a live band and almost the entire Spillage Village ensemble—namely JID, EarthGang, Jurdan Bryant, Hollywood JB, Benji and Mereba—present, the room was bursting with energy. Only R&B singer 6LACK was absent from the set due to travel restrictions.

Spilligion was released in September. It is the follow-up to their 2016 self-released debut album, Bears Like This Too Much.
