Spillage Village announce album with “Baptize” MV

EarthGang, JID, 6LACK, Mereba and more reunite for ‘Spilligion.’

Spillage Village have returned with a video for their new song, “Baptize.” The musical collective features Dreamville rappers EarthGang and JID, alongside 6LACK, Mereba, Jurdan Bryant, Hollywood JB and Benji.

The mesmerizing clip, directed by Caleb Seales, cuts between two locations: a forest, featuring gun-toting women dressed in white, and a church, where a pastor delivers an impassioned sermon and a choir sings. EarthGang and JID spit bars in both settings, emphasizing the religious imagery of their lyrics.

“Made in his image, I even work in mysterious ways / See, I’ve been over my lyrical phase, I rather be potent / Burnin’ that bush like Moses, hood on my back like cobras / Eat the forbidden fruit, girl, it’s a lot more I can show ya / Kickin’ that sinful shit, like to let y’all think it’s over,” EarthGang’s Doctur Dot spits.

Back in June, Spillage Village shared “End of Daze.” Both tracks are expected to appear the group’s upcoming album, Spilligion, due out September 25.
