Snoop Dogg reflects on his legacy in “I Wanna Thank Me” MV

We thank you too, Snoop.

Snoop Dogg has dropped “I Wanna Thank Me,” a new song in honor of… himself.

Last year, Snoop Dogg received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the end of his speech, where he acknowledged his supporters and mentors, he famously said, “I wanna thank me.” This line is now the intro to a song, also titled “I Wanna Thank Me.”

The Battlecat-produced track arrived alongside a clip that pays homage to the veteran rapper’s legacy. The visual opens with Snoop delivering his acceptance speech when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: “I wanna thank me for believing in me, I wanna thank me for doing all this hard work.” When the song kicks in, the video intercuts shots of Snoop performing the song with footage of the rapper at charity programs, concerts, on his private jet and more.

“I Wanna Thank Me” is also the title track of Snoop’s forthcoming album, due out this summer via Empire. The rapper previously collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas on “Be Nice” and Young Dolph on “I Think I Can Fly.”
