Smoke Dawg gets his first posthumous release, “No Discussion”

The accompanying visual for the track sees the late rapper doing his thing in his hometown.

Toronto-based rapper Smoke Dawg’s recent passing was a tragedy, but his memory lives on through his music—especially with the release of his first posthumous single, “No Discussion.”

The track features London-based wordsmith AJ Tracey on a verse and Murda Beatz on production. It’s a smooth-flowing jam that hears both artists rap about makin’ it even though life dealt them tough hands.

The release is accompanied by a visual, shot in Smokey’s hometown of Toronto, and features scenes of Regent Park, the housing complex he grew up in. The clip also finds both rappers hanging out in the streets, casually standing on a Ferrari while spitting bars.

Proceeds from the song will reportedly go to supporting Smoke Dawg’s family—he leaves behind a one-year-old daughter, his parents and 13 siblings. Keep an eye out for his EP Struggle Before Glory, which is rumored to drop in the coming months.

In the meantime, check out “No Discussion”:
