slowthai drops new single, “Gorgeous”

A cut from his upcoming album, ‘Nothing Great About Britain.’

slowthai has dropped “Gorgeous,” another single from his upcoming album Nothing Great About Britain.

On his latest track, the English grime artist flows over chopped piano samples as he reminisces about the adventures he had with his friends while growing up. The song then trails off with a recording of a man recounting his experience of going to a football game with his father.

“Gorgeous” will be featured on the Northampton rapper’s debut album, Nothing Great About Britain, which is set to arrive on May 17 via True Panther Records / Method Records. The 11-track project will feature contributions from fellow UK artists Mura Masa, Skepta, Jaykae and punk rock duo Slaves.

Explaining the album in a press release, the 24-year-old said: “It’s basically my experience of growing up [in the UK]; of having a family that were immigrants originally, of the stories they’ve told me, of my childhood and how I’ve lived my life.”

slowthai previously also dropped videos for other album cuts, “Peace of Mind” and “Doorman.”
