Shabazz Palaces share spacey video for “Chocolate Souffle”

Their new album, ‘The Don of Diamond Dreams,’ is on the way.

Shabazz Palaces have shared a homemade video for “Chocolate Souffle,” a cut from their forthcoming album, The Don of Diamond Dreams.

The captivating five-minute clip, directed by David Shields and James Nugent, features MC Ishmael Butler rapping to the camera amidst a variety of trippy Snapchat filters and disorienting edits. “My phone’s really not that smart,” the rapper repeats on the chorus.

Shabazz Palaces previously released the Purple Tape Nate-assisted song, “Fast Learner,” which will also appear on The Don of Diamond Dreams. The upcoming album will be the duo’s first full-length release since their 2017 LPs Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star and Quazarz vs the Jealous Machines.
