See Roddy Ricch’s “Thriller”-inspired video for “Late at Night”

The rapper’s first solo release of the year.

Roddy Ricch has returned with a video for the new single, “Late at Night.”

Over silky production by Mustard, Ricch delivers a heartfelt ode to a lover. “Late at night / Kiss me in the mornin’ or late at night / Long as you come through / I’mma make you come over and over,” the rapper sings on the track’s memorable chorus.

The music video, helmed by Director X, draws from a myriad of retro influences. It centers on Ricch riding a magic Ferris wheel that takes him into an old-school discotheque. And though we won’t spoil it, the video’s ending is also a homage to Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” video.

“Late at Night” is Ricch’s first solo release of 2021, though he also recently teamed up with 42 Dugg for “4 Da Gang” and collaborated with Birdman and Lil Wayne for “Stunnaman.” Ricch is currently working on the follow-up to his 2019 debut album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial.
