Schoolboy Q hasn’t dropped a project in almost four years, but today he releases his highly anticipated album, Crash Talk. The star-studded record features Travis Scott (on the single “Chopstix”), Kid Cudi, 6LACK, Ty Dolla $ign, 21 Savage and Lil Baby.
In an interview with GQ, the rapper revealed that he had actually recorded multiple albums before arriving at this 14-track project. “They were trash,” Q said of the two full albums he made and discarded. He made a third record, GQ notes, and then held off on dropping it because his Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock convinced him it wasn’t ready for release.
