It’s official: Sampa the Great’s debut album, The Return, is on its way. The record will feature the new single “OMG,” which arrived with a vibrant music video.

The visual, directed by Sanjay De Silva, was shot between South Africa and Botswana, where the Zambia-born, Sydney-based rapper spent her childhood. The clip explores Sampa’s African heritage and features appearances from her parents.

“I personally feel that people on the continent have a duty to our family in the diaspora, to re-teach our culture, language, spirituality, ways and return our peeps to ourselves,” Sampa explained in a statement. “To me ‘OMG’ sounds like the songs we heard in our childhood. It’s broadly about flexing your culture.”

The Return is the follow-up to Sampa’s 2017 mixtape, Birds and the BEE9. The 19-track full-length, which will include the previously released “Final Form,” is due out September 13 via Ninja Tune.
