Run the Jewels sample Gang Starr’s “DWYCK” on “Ooh La La”

Another taste of the duo’s forthcoming album, ‘Run the Jewels 4.’

Run the Jewels have shared “Ooh La La,” the latest preview of their forthcoming album, Run the Jewels 4.

The track’s infectious hook (“Ooh la la, ah, oui oui”) is built around a sample of Greg Nice’s vocals from Gang Starr’s 1992 song, “DWYCK.” RTJ’s El-P and Killer Mike jump in later with verses that reference Ricky Martin’s global hit “Livin’ la Vida Loca” and “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” by the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

“Ol’ Dirty Bastard, go in your jaw, shimmy shimmy ya / Got the semi in the hemi, go and gimme, gimme, ya / Pugilistic, my linguistics are Jeru the Damaja / And I rap it pornographic, bitch, set up the camera,” Killer Mike spits.
