Rod Wave returns with new album ‘SoulFly’

With a lone feature from Polo G.

Rod Wave has dropped his new album SoulFly.

The 19-track project comes just shy of a year since his last studio album, the hit sophomore release Pray 4 Love. It continues to flesh out the Florida artist’s blend of melodic rapping and soulful singing, with a sole feature courtesy of Chicago’s Polo G on “Richer.”

The runway to the release of SoulFly has been brief: just over two weeks ago, he dropped “Street Runner,” and earlier this week put out a cinematic video for “Tombstone.”

In February, though, it seemed that the album might be delayed: Wave aired dissatisfaction with his label Alamo Records on his Instagram story, declaring that he wouldn’t be “dropping shit” until the company paid him. But, as Uproxx reported, just days later Wave said he and his label had “figured it out” and that “everything [was] cool.”
