Rich Brian shares sunny video for “Sydney”

The 88rising rapper’s latest single gets a kooky clip.

Rich Brian has released a sunny visual for “Sydney,” the self-produced single that he dropped last month.

Linking with directors Grace and Silas “Bludshot” Lee, the rapper stunts outside an extravagant mansion, lifts weights by the pool and feeds tortoises in the new clip. All the while, the Indonesian MC boasts about his fame and rap prowess.

“Uh, flyin’ out to Sydney, class is on the bee’s knees / All my doctor’s writing, you could never fucking read me / I just had my birthday and I wished that I could be me / You old news, so when I look at you, I’m reminiscing,” he spits.

“I created ‘Sydney’ after listening to a ton of Three 6 Mafia,” Brian said of the track in a statement upon its release last month. “The entire production of this single was heavily inspired by the hip hop group. I also wanted to hear myself flexing about my life over some beautiful saxophone.”

“Sydney” was also Brian’s first single of the year, following his 2020 EP, 1999, which featured the tracks “DOA” and “Don’t Care.” Watch the new video for “Sydney” below:
