Ric Wilson falls in love with a puppet in “Yellowbrick” MV

The love song gets a sweet visual.

Young Chicago Authors alum Ric Wilson has released a sweet music video for “Yellowbrick,” which dropped earlier in the year.

In the first half of the comical clip co-directed by Eduardo Letamendi and Mauricio Reyes, the rapper meets and falls in love with the girl of his dreams, who happens to be a puppet. The visual then cuts to a club in the second half, featuring a scene where Wilson and his love interest dance in Soul Train line with the rest of their posse. At the end of the video, he transforms into a puppet too.

“It was a real collaborative effort between Eddie [Letamendi] and I,” Co-director Mauricio Reyes explained in a press release. “Combining two different ideas that really capture the energy that Ric brings to his music, live shows and life in general. And puppets… you can never go wrong with puppets!”
