Reason fights his doppelgänger in “Pop Shit” video

A cut off his upcoming album, ‘New Beginnings.’

“Pop Shit,” Reason’s latest collaboration with Top Dawg Entertainment labelmate Schoolboy Q, has received an intense visual treatment.

Directed by Jon Primo, the clip follows the pair as they infiltrate a fancy party hosted by Reason’s doppelgänger. While Q holds the guests hostage, Reason and his lookalike face off until one of them ends up dead. Which one? Well, that’s what you’ll have to find out for yourself.

“Wait, ride with my block, ride with my steez, pop shit,” Reason spits over the sinister Karl Banx beat. “I ain’t need help, I got the keys, locksmith / Fuck who the best, I clean up mess, mop shit.”

“Pop Shit” is the latest preview of Reason’s sophomore album, New Beginnings. The upcoming record follows the rapper’s 2018 debut, There You Have it. Last month, he released a new song “Might Not Make it” as part of TDE’s fan appreciation week.

Meanwhile, Q announced at the start of the year that he was gearing up to release the follow-up to his 2019 album, Crash Talk. In March, he hopped on Conway the Machine’s single, “Shoot Sideways.”
