Pharoahe Monch unveils new song, “Same Sh!t, Different Toilet”

Featuring Styles P and produced by Marco Polo.

Pharoahe Monch has teamed up with frequent collaborator Styles P for a powerful new single, “Same Sh!t, Different Toilet.”

The rappers take a stand against police brutality and racism on the hard-hitting song, produced by Marco Polo. “They’re burnin’ crucifixes on my lawn again / They wanna hang a n***a like an ornament, it’s tormenting / Mourning over yesterday, still yawning / Inside of a tournament I can’t win,” Monch raps.

Later in the track, Styles P takes aim at the Ku Klux Klan: “It’s like we picking cotton again / Fortifies the Klansman, shit is rotting again / They gave us AIDS, gave us crack, now they plottin’ again / That boy ran so they shot him, then they shot him again.”

Last year, Monch re-released his debut album, Internal Affairs, on all major streaming services. The record was originally released in 1999, but had been unavailable for the better part of the last two decades due to an unauthorized sample of the Godzilla theme song.
