Nyck Caution returns with new solo EP, ‘Open Flame’

The Pro Era rapper has a full album due out later this year.

Pro Era member Nyck Caution has released his new solo EP, Open Flame.

The five-track project features appearances from fellow New York rappers Flipp Dinero and Jake Luttrell, as well as Flatbush Zombies’ Meechy Darko on the previously released “Famiglia.” The EP is also Caution’s first solo release since his 2016 mixtape, Disguise the Limit.

Open Flame is also a collection of songs that didn’t make the cut for his upcoming debut album, the Pro Era rapper explained in an interview with Complex. “None of these songs are throwaways but more like tracks that didn’t fit the direction of the album,” he said.

“I wanted to give everyone a few different styles and approaches, while starting my season off with this collection of tracks, and keeping my foot on the pedal, moving forward,” Caution added.
