Nothing,Nowhere drops an intense video for “dread”

A look into the rapper’s ongoing struggle with mental health.

Nothing,Nowhere’s latest single, “dread,” which deals with the English rapper’s long battle with depression, has now been given the video treatment.

Directed by Patrick Lawler, the clip finds Nothing playing the roles of both a doctor and a patient at a rehabilitation center. “I wanna know when the pain stops,” the rapper screams while wandering down a hallway in a hospital gown. Elsewhere, Nothing watches footage of himself performing on stage, which puts a teary smile on his face.

“I wanted to make a visual that represented my internal struggles that I faced this past summer,” he wrote in a statement to Highsnobiety. “I also want to let anyone know who is struggling with their own mental health that it gets better, but when you’re in it, it can feel like pure dread.”

After canceling his North American tour in August “to seek professional help,” Nothing plans to hit the road once again later this month alongside Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Smrtdeath and St Panther.
