Nas pits “War Against Love” in his new video

The latest visual from ‘The Lost Tapes 2.’

Nas has released a video for “War Against Love,” a cut from his The Lost Tapes 2 compilation.

The compelling clip juxtaposes triumphant moments in human history, such as the civil rights movement, with scenes of man-made destruction. The visual also includes images of current President Donald Trump, former President Jimmy Carter, Adolf Hitler and other historical figures. “It is our duty to learn from humanity’s fraught history and move forward in the name of love,” Nas wrote in a statement that accompanied the video.

“War Against Love” was inspired by a conversation the rapper had with Lauryn Hill. “We were talking about the evil that goes on in the world, right? And she said, ‘It’s like a war against love,’ just in conversation and [that] just stayed with me the next day, and the next day, and the next day,” he told Mass Appeal. “So when I got in the studio and going through the tracks, it came up.”
