Mike Will Made-It unveils tracklist for ‘Creed II’ soundtrack

“The soundtrack/collaboration album game will never be the same after this,” he promises.

Production heavyweight Mike Will Made-It is helming the soundtrack to Creed II, the latest installment of the Rocky franchise starring Michael B Jordan as Adonis Creed. Yesterday, he unveiled the full tracklist, teasing “rare collabs, loud mixes, new flows, fresh melodies.”

While there are some no-brainers on here—the involvement of Kendrick Lamar and Rae Sremmurd, for example—there are also a few intriguing inclusions. Bon Iver will supply walk-out music in the form of “Do You Need Power?” while actress Tessa Thompson, who plays Creed’s love interest, will appear on “Midnight” with Gunna.

Mike Will worked on the soundtrack with Ludwig Göransson—who was also involved in Black Panther, the other 2018 blockbuster whose soundtrack is as stacked as its cast—and Fam Rothstein, who manages Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino.

“I approached the music by first watching Creed II and then creating a playlist of songs people could work out to, chill to, vibe to or to get them through any struggle which matched specific scenes in the movie,” Mike Will said in a statement. “It’s important to show the new generation that soundtracks can be just as exciting as traditional albums if put in the hands of the right curator.”

Creed II: The Album is out the same day as the film, November 21. Check out the full tracklist below:

And hear “Kill ’Em with Success” with Eearz, Schoolboy Q and 2 Chainz, which is the only song out so far:
