Melii and 6LACK go old-school for “You Ain’t Worth it” MV

Moving on isn’t always a bad thing.

Melii has unveiled the video for her latest collaboration with 6LACK, “You Ain’t Worth it.”

The visual, directed by Des Gray, is characterized by vibrant color schemes and pays homage to the noughties with flip phones and oval-framed sunnies. Shot in Los Angeles, it depicts the ups-and-downs of a chaotic relationship as well as the satisfaction of leaving one.

In a press statement, the Harlem rapper shared: “The video was such a fun vibe. We wanted to go with old-school looks and aesthetic because it went with the song the best. Working with 6LACK was amazing.”

On the track, which was released in December, Melii raps over an infectious beat about liberation from the shackles of a toxic relationship: “I let you act up, get your shit together / I let you rock, had me convinced that you ain’t know no better / Usin’ trauma as excuses for your lack of effort / Well, give advice on mental health, like get a fuckin’ expert.”

Later, 6LACK pops in with a verse that echoes Melii’s sentiments: “Out of everything on my list of things that’s worth it / I did not find you / You must think I’m blind, no, I didn’t see what you pulled / You gotta be lyin’ if you think I’ll put up with more.”

“You Ain’t Worth it” is Melii’s follow-up to the tracks “Way Too Soft” and “BDE” featuring fellow New Yorker Smoove’L. In 2019, she released the album Phases and the EP Motions.

On the other hand, 6LACK dropped the 6pc Hot EP last year. It featured the tracks “Know My Rights” featuring Lil Baby and “ATL Freestyle.” He also recently appeared in the video for Lil Durk’s track “Stay Down,” also featuring Young Thug.
