Megan Thee Stallion has shared an update on her well-being after suffering multiple gunshot wounds earlier this month.

In her first appearance since the incident, Megan opened up about the “worst experience of [her] life.” During an Instagram Live session on Monday (July 27), the rapper confirmed she was shot in both feet and had to undergo surgery to get the bullets out. “It was super scary,” she recalled. “Oh Lord, I didn’t think I was going to cry. I had to get surgery. It was just the worst experience of my life.”

Megan then hit back at internet trolls who made light of her injuries and spun “fake stories” about the incident. “It’s not funny. There’s nothing to joke about. There was nothing for y’all to start making fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot. I didn’t do shit,” she said.

The rapper added she was lucky that the bullets “didn’t touch bones” or “break [any] tendons.” “I know my momma, my daddy, my granny had to be looking out for me with that one ’cause where the bullet hit at, it missed everything. Them motherfuckers was in there,” she said.

Megan also addressed the rumors surrounding the incident, saying she wasn’t “protecting anybody” and needed time to process the experience before making a statement to the public. “I just wasn’t ready to speak,” she explained. “That’s not no shit that you immediately get on the internet and start talking about.”

At the end of the video, Megan thanked her friends and loyal supporters for sending love and gifts throughout her recovery. “I love you to everybody who has been sending me messages and flowers and all kinda shit,” she beamed. “Thank y’all, ’cause I see all that shit.”

On July 12, Variety reported that Megan had been at a house party in Hollywood Hills with Tory Lanez when a violent altercation occurred. According to officials, the pair were later found in an SUV nearby where they discovered Megan had sustained injuries to her feet. Police had also uncovered a gun in the vehicle during their investigation.

Lanez was arrested on the scene on a concealed weapon charge while Megan was sent to the hospital for treatment. Her shooter has not yet been identified.
