Meek Mill shows off his acting chops in ‘Charm City Kings’ trailer

The rapper will make his big-screen debut at Sundance.

Angel Manuel Soto’s new film, Charm City Kings, has released its first trailer starring Meek Mill. The Philadelphia rapper plays Blax, the leader of an infamous dirt biking crew from Baltimore, Maryland.

The film’s trailer follows a young boy named Mouse (played by Jahi Di’Allo Winston) who aspires to be a part of the Midnight Clique, the dirt bike gang led by Blax. However, during his pursuit, Mouse uncovers the darker side of the trade that’s filled with fast money and violence. Actors Teyonah Parris and William Catlett also make cameos in the action-packed clip.

Charm City Kings, co-written by Moonlight’s Barry Jenkins and executive produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, marks Meek’s feature film debut. The movie will premiere at Sundance Film Festival later this month before hitting the big screen in April, Rolling Stone reports.
