Maxo Kream brings us behind bars in “Meet Again” MV

An unsettling look at the US criminal justice system.

Houston rapper Maxo Kream has dropped an introspective video for “Meet Again.”

The clip is an inside look at the lives of inmates, from lunchtime activities to being alone in their cells. Kream appears in the video as a visitor with bad news for a friend. “Wanna see just how you doin’, wanna know just how you been / Tell you who your bitch been screwin’, check in on your mom and ’em / Hope you get a second chance, we been down since elementary / Hope one day we meet again, break you out this penitentiary,” he raps.

“The judicial system and the prisons work against the black community in so many ways and really needs to be reformed,” Maxo Kream told Hypebeast. “This is a song of solidarity to all my brothers and sisters who are locked up. It’s a message to keep strong and let them know there’s people on the outside who are thinking about them and looking out for their families.”
