Machine Gun Kelly has announced that his new musical film, Downfalls High, will premiere next week.
The rapper shared the news alongside a teaser trailer for the upcoming short film based on his 2020 pop punk-inspired album, Tickets to My Downfall. Touted as “a first of its kind musical film experience,” Downfalls High will feature appearances from a slew of MGK’s close friends and collaborators, including blackbear, Trippie Redd, Iann Dior and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney. Kelly, who wrote and directed the musical with fellow rapper Mod Sun, will also narrate the film, alongside Blink-182’s Travis Barker.
Kelly had earlier teased the musical in an interview with NME. “I just shot it in four days with Mod Sun,” he said. “It was my first time directing.” The rapper described the musical as a “new pop-punk Grease” that featured a “narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories.”
Downfalls High premieres January 15 and will be available to watch on its official website here.
