Machine Gun Kelly shares first-ever musical, ‘Downfalls High’

The rapper’s pop punk take on ‘Grease.’

Machine Gun Kelly has shared his first-ever musical, Downfalls High.

The film is soundtracked by the rapper’s latest album, Tickets to My Downfall, and is co-narrated by Kelly and his frequent collaborator, Travis Barker. Downfalls High was written and co-directed by Kelly and Mod Sun, who described the 49-minute film as “a new pop-punk Grease,” in an interview with NME.

“It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that’s outside of my personal life stories,” MGK added. “It focuses on other characters, and then me and [Barker] are just the narrators. It’s an interesting concept because it hasn’t been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.”

Downfalls High stars TikTok creator Chase Hudson and Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney. The musical also features Kelly’s other Tickets collaborators, such as Trippie Redd, blackbear and Iann Dior.
