Machine Gun Kelly drops anthemic new song, “Why Are You Here”

He’s making good on a promise to release a “rock album in 2020.”

Machine Gun Kelly has delivered on his promise to release a new song before the end of the year with “Why Are You Here.”

The rapper continues his pivot to rock on the track, which is driven by a hazy guitar melody and crashing drums. “I hate that I saw you again last night / You were with somebody and so was I / Met you in the bathroom at 12:05 / And I fucked you again, we can never be friends,” Kelly sings on the chorus.

“Why Are You Here” is the latest rock-influenced release from Kelly, following tracks such as “I Think I’m Okay,” featuring Blink-182’s Tavis Barker and YUNGBLUD, and “The Dirt (Est 1981)” with Mötley Crüe. Earlier this year, he released the album Hotel Diablo.

With “Why Are You Here,” Kelly seems to be following through on an announcement he made earlier this month to release a “rock album in 2020.” While you wait for the record to drop next year, listen to his new song below:
