Mac Miller announces new album, ‘Swimming’

The record is dropping in August.

A new Mac Miller album is finally on its way. Titled Swimming, the follow-up to 2016’s The Divine Feminine is set to arrive on August 3. The announcement was made on the rapper’s Instagram earlier today and was accompanied by a 29-second audio snippet.

“My regrets look just like texts I shouldn’t send / And I got neighbors that move like strangers / We could be friends,” he croons over a piano-driven beat in the teaser. But that isn’t the only news he surprised fans with.

Just ten hours after dropping the album teaser, Miller unveiled the music video for the record’s first official single, “Self Care.” And as hinted by its title, the track hears the rapper reflecting. “Tell them they can take that bullsh*t elsewhere / Self care, I’m treatin’ me right / Hell yeah, we’re gonna be alright,” he raps on the chorus.
