Loyle Carner, Jorja Smith team up on “Loose Ends”

The pair meet gracefully on the smooth new single.

Mercury-nominated wordsmith Loyle Carner has recruited R&B crooner Jorja Smith for his new single, “Loose Ends.”

Carner pours his heart out on this track, urging listeners not to leave any sentiment unsaid. He laments the downside of fame and losing a loved one, dropping bars like I wish you’d been there in the drag of night / To see my side, look me in my eyes when I was paralyzed” and “Thinking, shit, rather in the crowd with your mates drinking / Misbehaviors, catch another dame winking.” Smith contributes a soulful and heartfelt chorus complementing Carner as they float effortlessly over the smooth beat, led by piano and live drum beats.

“Loose Ends” follows Carner’s previously released singles “You Don’t Know” and “Ottolenghi.”  He last released an album, Yesterday’s Gone, in 2017.
