Little Simz addresses her father on “I Love You, I Hate You”

The latest track from her upcoming album, ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.’

Little Simz has released her latest single, “I Love You, I Hate You.”

The emotionally potent track will appear on Simz’s upcoming album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. Over tight grooves and cinematic strings courtesy of producer Inflo, the British rapper confronts her complicated relationship with her estranged father.

“Hard to not carry these feelings even on my best days / Never thought my parent would give me my first heartbreak,” Simz spits on an intimately confessional verse.

Mostly recorded during quarantine, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert explores Simz’s struggle with being an introvert in the music industry.

“I wanted to just let people know like, yo, I’m actually this way inclined… being this introverted person that has all these crazy thoughts and ideas and theories in my head and not always feeling like I’m able to express it if it’s not through my art,” she expressed in a statement.

“I Love You, I Hate You” follows “Introvert,” “Woman,” and “Rollin Stone” as the fourth single from the album, which is set to arrive this September. The LP will be the rapper’s first project since last year’s Drop 6 EP and full-length album since 2019’s Grey Area.
