Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Robert Gill, otherwise known as Reason, has dropped a fresh track, “Same Ol Shit.”

Produced by Kelvin Wooten, Lonestarrmuzik and S1, the track is built around haunting keys and sharp snares. Reason rides the bleak instrumental effortlessly, spitting menacing bars calling out emcees who lie for street credibility. At one point, he even singles out rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine: “You praise stool pigeons, I swear / Tekashi on a stand pointing fingers at all the opps / Ironic some months ago, y’all thought y’all was praisin’ a God.”

“Same Ol Shit” is Reason’s latest single, following August’s “High Hopes.” He had previously contributed a verse to “Lambo Truck,” Cozz’s song from Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III. Reason’s last project, There You Have it, arrived in 2017.
