Hip hop duo EarthGang have finally released Mirrorland, their much-anticipated major label debut.
The Dreamville act’s latest LP is 14 tracks long, with a runtime of just under an hour. For the record, the pair linked up with rappers such as Young Thug and T-Pain, as well as R&B singers Kehlani, Arin Ray and Malik. The LP also includes the previously released single, “Up.”
“We thought about how, if we’re going to make a project sonically to rival The Wiz, we got to create another world for people to imagine and go to,” Doctur Dot told Pitchfork of the inspiration behind the record. “You know when Dorothy got swept away and she met the Munchkins? That was such a beautiful thing.”
Mirrorland is EarthGang’s first full-length on Dreamville/Interscope, which they signed to in 2017. They recently released the loosie “Ready to Die,” and featured on “Sacrifices,” a standout track from the Dreamville compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III.
