Listen to “Blood,” a new song from Saba’s Pivot Gang crew

It’s the hip hop collective’s first offering in almost five years.

Chicago hip hop collective Pivot Gang, co-founded by Saba and his brother Joseph Chilliams, have shared a brand-new song titled “Blood.”

Over a smooth beat co-produced by SqueakPIVOT and daedaePIVOT, the brothers, alongside members MFn Melo and Frsh Waters, rap about the group’s unbreakable bond, claiming that “this Pivot shit realer than blood.”

“Blood” is Pivot Gang’s follow-up to their 2013 mixtape, Jimmy, and the crew’s first song since the death of member John Walt. Walt, who was the cousin to Saba and Joseph, was fatally stabbed last February. The song pays homage to the late rapper and was released to commemorate the second John Walt Day, an annual charity concert led by Saba and co to help raise funds for Chicago youth involved in the arts.
