Lil Yachty has tapped into his romantic side for his new single, “Love Music.”
As the song’s title implies, the Atlanta native gets gushy about his partner over a guitar-driven beat, courtesy of producer David LoneStarr.
“All I, all I ever heard was good things / Good things about you and your ways,” Yachty croons. “At the school dance, no, no, no, we’re just friends / Hope that we can be more, I dreamed of you last night / You had on a big old gown and a wedding ring / You were my wife, baby, you were my wife / Baby, you run my life.”
“Love Music” marks a departure from Yachty’s last hard-hitting release, “Hit Bout it,” which featured Kodak Black. Earlier this year, the 23-year-old also dropped off his Michigan Boy Boat mixtape, which featured appearances from a variety of Detroit-based artists and more. However, Yachty has been teasing his softer side as of late, recently taking to Instagram to share his own version of Ne-Yo’s 2006 hit, “Sexy Love.” The rapper also tagged Ne-Yo, asking if he could clear the sample to officially release the song.
