Lil Yachty is developing an UNO-themed heist movie

Set in Atlanta’s hip hop scene, no less.

Lil Yachty has teamed up with toy company Mattel to shoot an action film based on the popular card game UNO.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper will produce and is also expected to star in the upcoming film, which is described as an “action heist comedy, set in the underground hip hop world of Atlanta.” Marcy Kelly is on board to pen the script while Quality Control’s Kevin “Coach K” Lee, Pierre “P” Thomas and Brian Sher will serve as producers. Mattel Film’s Robbie Brenner, on the other hand, will executive produce.

Yachty added that he was excited to be part of the production. “I played UNO as a kid and still do today, so to spin that into a movie based on the Atlanta hip hop scene I came out of is really special. It hits close to home for me,” he said in a press statement.

Other details about the upcoming movie, including the cast and release date, have yet to be revealed.

The UNO-themed action flick will mark Yachty’s first time in the producer’s seat. He’d previously made his acting debut in 2018’s animated movie Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, before going on to appear in movies like Long Shot and How High 2.

At the end of last year, Yachty returned with a deluxe edition of Lil Boat 3, simply titled Lil Boat 3.5. It featured eight new songs, including collaborations with Lil Baby, Vince Staples and Oliver Tree, plus the freestyle “Coffin.”
