Lil Wayne shares “Ain’t Got Time” after Trump pardon

The rapper was granted clemency by the former president for a 2019 weapons charge.

Lil Wayne has shared a new Fousheé-assisted track “Ain’t Got Time,” just two days after being granted clemency by Donald Trump.

In a series of pardons on Tuesday, the former president pardoned Wayne’s federal weapons charges, which stemmed from a 2019 incident at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. At the time, authorities discovered weapons and drugs on the rapper’s private jet, which he addresses on the new track.

“They raided my private plane, I went got one that’s more privater,” he raps on the song. Wayne also references the late Juice WRLD, whose plane was searched by authorities just moments before he suffered a seizure and died.

“FBI arrest me, why? / They can’t nail mе so they just screwin’ me/ I just try, try to hidе,” Wayne spits. “Sometimes it’s hard to find time to be the good guy and still be someone / Enjoyin’ my good time.”

In December, Wayne pleaded guilty to one count of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. The rapper was facing up to ten years in prison until Trump’s pardon. 45 also commuted the sentences of Kodak Black and Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris.

“I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community,” Wayne tweeted in response to the pardon. He also thanked his lawyer “for working so diligently to secure another chance for me.”

Earlier this week, Wayne released an updated version of his Green Bay Packers tribute song, “Green and Yellow.”
