Lil Wayne makes comeback with “Quasimodo”

‘Tha Carter V’ may arrive sooner than we think.

The wait for Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated record, Tha Carter V, might finally come to an end. Because the rapper has unveiled a brand-new song, “Quasimodo.”

The track, which leaked in June on DatPiff, hears Weezy spitting rhymes about trapping over a cruisey, mid-tempo rap beat. “I’ve been trappin’ on the low low / Just me and my woe, no / But I think the Feds got a hunch, like Quasimodo,” he sings on the chorus.

During a recent show in Miami, Tunechi updated fans on the release of his album. “Just to let y’all know, I had a meeting today. It wasn’t a long meeting,” he announced. “Just so y’all know, the meeting was about the release date of Tha Carter fucking V.”

The LP was initially due for release in 2013 but has been held up since. From the material that we’ve been teased so far, however, it seems like it was almost worth the five-year delay. ?
