Last September, after years of legal disputes, label tensions and fan fervor, Lil Wayne was finally able to release the highly anticipated Tha Carter V. And yesterday, he dropped the music video for the controversial track “Don’t Cry,” featuring the late XXXTentacion.
The video’s unquestionably scenic. The rapper is served libations among what appear to be desolate sand dunes, with cuts to camels, beautiful women burning sage and a huge temple. Later, Wayne perches on an intricately detailed throne, rapping introspectively as he toys with a blunt.
The clip—which dropped on what would have been XXXTentacion’s 21st birthday—also features footage of the Florida rapper when he was alive.
