Moneybagg Yo has shared a new video for “Wockesha,” a fan favorite from his latest album A Gangsta’s Pain.
Co-directed by Moneybagg and Ben Marc, the clip features a cameo by Lil Wayne, who recites quotables from his infamous 2009 interview with Tim Westwood. In the song’s sampled interview snippet, Wayne says, “It ain’t nobody’s business what’s in my cup” when asked if he’s still drinking lean.
“Whatever the hell was in my cup, the only reaction I did was got more popular, more successful… a lot more things than I’ve ever done,” Wayne adds. “I probably should pick that cup back up.”
In the song, Moneybagg too rhymes about lean use, which he compares to a tumultuous relationship. In the clip, the line between the two is blurred, as the Memphis native goes out on dates with a person he views as a purple-haired woman, but what others see as a full Styrofoam cup.
“One minute I’m done with you, the next one I be runnin’ back / Go your way, I go my way but somehow we be still attached / Tryna find my answers with this cup, but ain’t no truth in that / They be like, I’m dumb for fuckin’ with you, I spend stupid racks,” he spits.
“Wockesha” joins the likes of “Time Today,” “Shottas (Lala)” and other hits on Moneybagg’s fourth studio album, A Gangsta’s Pain. The April effort featured Pharrell Williams, Jhené Aiko, Polo G, Lil Durk, Future, BIG30 and more.
